Dr. Jessica Kozloff joined Academic Search in 2008 as a senior consultant and was appointed president in 2011. Since joining Academic Search, she has served as Lead Consultant for over 50 presidential, cabinet level and dean searches.
Dr. Kozloff is President Emerita of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania,where she was president from 1994 to 2007. During her tenure, she served as a member of the NCAA Presidents Council; chaired the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; and was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). These experiences provided an exceptional network of contacts which she uses in her search work.
An active speaker on the search process, Dr. Kozloff has facilitated various leadership retreats and forums for national education organizations such as the American Council on Education(ACE), the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI) and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). Beginning in 2008, she has served as the facilitator for AASCU’s Experienced Presidents Retreat, a workshop that has sharpened her understanding of the leadership challenges and opportunities in today’s higher education environment. All of these interactions with higher education leaders are invaluable in assessing the leadership potential of applicants for senior leadership positions.
Prior to assuming the presidency at Bloomsburg University, Dr. Kozloff was Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs for the governing board of the State Colleges of Colorado. She served an ACE Fellowship and was Chair of the Council of Fellows. Her bachelor and masters degrees are from the University of Nevada-Reno in education and political science, respectively. She earned her Ph.D. in political science from Colorado State University and received an honorary doctorate from the Russian Finance Academy in Moscow.
