UNC System, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration Appointment

Nancy Suttenfield, Bill Howard and Marcie Pecora are pleased to announce the successful appointment of Clinton P. Carter as the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of the University of North Carolina System. Carter is currently the Chief Financial Officer and State Finance Director for the State of Alabama, where he has served since 2016.

Appointment of Dean of the Graduate College of Education at San Francisco State University

Andrea Warren Hamos and Penny Gibbons are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Cynthia Grutzik as dean of San Francisco State’s Graduate College of Education (GCOE). Her appointment is effective August 1st. Since 2012, Dr. Grutzik has served as the associate dean of the College of Education at California State University, Long Beach.

Dean appointed at Xavier University of Louisiana

Ann Die Hasselmo, Chris Butler and I are pleased to share the appointment of Dr. Camellia Moses Okpodu as the next Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Xavier University of Louisiana. Dr. Okpodu is Professor of Biology and Director of the Group for Microgravity and Environmental Biology at Norfolk State University and Director of a Designated IC Center of Academic excellence (DIA). Previously, Dr. Okpodu was director of Norfolk’s NIH Extramural Research Office and an American Council on Education Fellow.

Appointment of Dean of the School of Education at Buena Vista University

Eric Richtmyer, Jack Ohle and Penny Gibbons are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ann Monroe-Baillargeon as the new dean of the school of education at Buena Vista University. She will assume the role on June 29. Prior to joining BVU, Monroe-Baillargeon worked at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Conn., where she served as dean of the school of education for three years before returning to faculty for one year.

Announcing a new President for the University of Mount Olive

Maya Kirkhope and Lisa Rosenberg want to share the good news that David Poole has been appointed President of the University of Mount Olive.  He will take office July 1. Dr. Poole has over thirty six years’ experience in the business and education environment. Since 2010, he has served as Vice President for Online and Professional Studies and Associate Professor of Leadership and Management at California Baptist University.

AICUNJ-ICFNJ Announcement

Jay Lemons, Jack Ohle and Disa Mason are pleased to share that the joint boards of the Association of Independent Colleges of New Jersey (AICUNJ) and the Independent College Fund of New Jersey (ICFNJ) announced that Dr. Lou Manzione will assume the role of president of the organizations in July 2018. Dr. Manzione has been the dean of the College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture at the University of Hartford for the past 13 years.
