CSUCI Appoints Osman Özturgut

Ann Die Hasselmo, Chris Butler, and Lauren Merriam are pleased to share the appointment of Dr. Osman Özturgut as Dean of Extended University and Associate Vice President for International Programs at California State University Channel Islands effective July 9, 2018. Dr. Özturgut has served as the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas since 2015.

LIM College Appoints Lisa Springer

Andrea Warren Hamos and Penny Gibbons are pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Springer as the next Provost/VPAA of LIM College, beginning June 4, 2018. Springer comes to LIM from the New York University School of Professional Studies, where as chief academic officer of her division, she expanded non-credit offerings in languages and humanities, refined the curriculum of the masters’ programs in professional writing and translation, launched global offerings overseas, and designed a writing program for graduate students across the School. 

Salisbury University Appointed Charles Wight

Charles Wight was appointed the new President for Salisbury University. Dr. Wight will be succeeding Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach who has been president for the past 18 years. Dr. Wight comes from Weber State University where he was President for the past 5 years. He also moved up through the ranks at University of Utah since 1984.  He served as Professor, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Assistant Vice President for Continuing Education, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School before becoming president in 2013.

St. Catherine University Appoints Tarshia Stanley

Maya Kirkhope and Lisa Rosenberg want to share the good news that Dr. Tarshia Stanley has been appointed Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences at St. Catherine University. She comes to St. Kate’s after nearly two decades at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She most recently served as the Director of E.W. Githii Honors Program and Associate Professor of English.

Lesley University Appoints Margaret Everett

Andrea Warren Hamos, Pam Balch, and Disa Mason are pleased to announce that Lesley University has hired Dr. Margaret Everett as its next provost and vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Everett is interim provost and vice president of academic affairs at Portland State University, where she has held various academic and administrative leadership positions since 1996, when she joined the university as a member of the anthropology faculty.

Carlow University Appoints Sibdas Ghosh

Ann Die Hasselmo, Chris Butler, and Lauren Merriam are pleased to share the appointment of Sibdas Ghosh as the next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Carlow University effective July 1, 2018. Dr. Ghosh most recently served as Dean of the School of Arts and Science and Professor of Biology at Iona College in New York, where he has been in that role since 2013.

University of Alaska Anchorage Appoints Beverly Cotton Shuford

Bill Howard and Marcie Pecora are pleased to announce the successful appointment of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services Search at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Beverly Cotton Shuford most recently served as the associate vice president of budget and analytics at the University of North Texas where she has been responsible for an annual operating budget of more than $700 million and served as lead for strategic planning operations.
