Penny S. Gibbons

Associate Consultant

With 13 years of higher education experience, Penny brings diverse knowledge in enrollment management, advising, marketing, advancement, retention and student success from her experience at both public and private institutions---at the community college, four-year and graduate levels. She has served in a variety of roles, including Coordinator of Academic Advising, Staff Writer/Communications Coordinator, Director of the Academic Resources Center and Director of Graduate Admissions. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stetson University and a master’s degree in psychology from Radford University.

Since joining Academic Search in 2017, Penny has served in the roles of Associate Consultant and Consultant. As Associate Consultant, she prepares written documents for searches; assists with advertising; maintains a database of prospective candidates and a website of applicant materials; performs various research functions; and assists the senior consultants during committee meetings and semifinalist interviews. As Consultant, she participates in the strategic management of the search, including candidate cultivation, client management and decision making. She also assists with devising the position profile and ad; helps to generate a pool of highly qualified candidates; establishes and maintains close communication with the search committee and chair; participates in campus meetings at significant points in the search; and serves as a contact for all phases of the recruiting effort.
